Alcoa in Suriname
Overview
Alcoa Foundation was first endowed by Alcoa in 1952 and makes community-directed grants in Alcoa communities worldwide and to local, national and international organizations.

Communities have always been the focus of our giving. Alcoa and Alcoa Foundation decided from the start that our success as a company was linked to the health and well-being of the communities that host Alcoa facilities. We know that improving the quality of life where Alcoa plants and offices are located is important to all of the people who live and work there. We strive to enrich these locales with more than just money.

Employee Engagement

Two global programs have been developed to recognize the volunteer efforts of Alcoa employees through special Alcoa grants. ACTION (Alcoans Coming Together In Our Neighborhoods) encourages Alcoans to work as a team to help a local nonprofit, while Bravo! recognizes individual employee volunteer efforts. Alcoa employees in The Republic of Suriname are participating in these programs to benefit the nonprofit organizations in their communities.
