In its annual safety analysis, the European Aluminum Association (EAA) has named Alcoa Fusina (Italy) the Best Small Smelter and Alcoa San Ciprian (Spain) the Best Alumina Plant on safety.
Fusina has sustained zero lost workdays (LWDs)for more than eight years, a significant achievement. Other Alcoa locations commended by the EAA for having no recordable injuries during 2006 were Alcoa Amorebieta, Alcoa Perfialsa, Alcoa Navarra, Alcoa La Selva, and Alcoa Noblejas, all in Spain.
