Alcoa North America Rolled Products - Davenport Works
Overview
Davenport Works-A Tradition of Setting the Standard

Almost from inception, Davenport Works has been the site of achievement in the aluminum manufacturing industry. The sheet and plate rolling mill plant, which has been calling the banks of the Mississippi home for more than half a century, was conceived to meet pent-up commercial demand for aluminum products following World War II. Nine months after operations began, we made the largest aluminum coils ever produced. Three months later, the first 90-inch strip of aluminum sheet, the largest ever at that time, left the floor.

Never satisfied with the status quo, Davenport Works began its first major expansion, only five years after the plant opened. Indeed, each decade since operations began at Davenport has seen a major expansion or improvement project undertaken.

We've always wanted to be the best at what we do. Each generation of Davenport Alcoans has raised the bar for quality and performance. Giving customers the added value of experience, completeness of services, and the excellence of Alcoa employees has given us a significant edge over the competition.

Being a leader in today's markets also demands flexibility. Thanks in part to the Alcoa Business System (ABS) and other operational changes implemented over the years, we've become even more efficient. This in turn has allowed us to produce 10,000 specifications using more than 100 alloys. Custom made products range from 00.6 to 16 inches thick and from .75 to 210 inches wide. No other operation in the world offers such capabilities.
