- Won China National “Health & Safety Cup” in 2001.
- Government recognition for our “One Million Tree” activities.
- Recognition from Shanghai Electrical Power Co. for helping them develop their EHS awareness and system.
Accomplishments
- SWGR (solid waste generation rate) in 2002 was reduced 54% compared with 1997.
- Diesel and coolant usage in 2002 were reduced by 9% and 10% respectively compared with 1998, although the production volume increased more than 40%.
- Partnership in community tree planting as part of Alcoa’s ‘One Million Tree Initiative’.
